Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story

Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story because of the way your articles reach humans who have an interest in them. Article Marketing will help you increase your link popularity, search engine positioning for your keywords and phrases, and it helps you reach more potential customers for your products or services.

When it comes to marketing your business, its always "campaign season." Whether you're creating awareness, implementing a promotion strategy, or building your brand, carrying out regular marketing campaigns is crucial to the success and health of your business.

Stick With the Winners

When planning your next marketing campaign, think about the strategies that have worked for your business in the past, and try to repeat them. Don't be afraid to drop the activities that no longer work for you; instead, stick with the ones that bring in the best results. Also, try to include some new online marketing techniques in your marketing mix, like email marketing or web advertising. Online marketing is typically inexpensive to try, easy to track, and is very effective for most types of businesses. Remember to always test and measure all of your campaigns so that you can identify the winners and drop the losers.

Diversify Your Efforts

Using a variety of methods to promote your business is always a good idea, since experts tell us that consumers mentally integrate information better when they get it from many sources. Getting your message out by using several different techniques will help your customers "learn" your message and remember your company the next time they need your products or services.

Look for Lasting Results

Marketing your business is an ongoing process, so look for activities that have staying power. For instance, press releases stick around in news archives and on media web sites, providing inbound links to your web site long after the news was released. You can also look for marketing strategies that lend themselves to repetition, like sending out monthly newsletters (or e-newsletters, which are less expensive to send), or renewing annual business memberships like Chambers of Commerce or professional associations. This type of consistency will help protect your business from sporadic marketing attempts that are often too short-lived to have much impact.

Consistency is Key

The most important part of marketing your business is to be consistent make sure you are implementing marketing campaigns on a regular basis, not just every now and then. Try to reach your customers using a steady stream of marketing methods (e.g., your web site, email campaigns, direct advertising, e-newsletters, print, etc.), so that your customers and potential customers remember your message and your company the next time they shop.

Having a proper code architecture is vital to the search engine marketing of a Website.

Simply put, designing an awesome content rich website is not enough. Yes, the site needs to be placed in front of as many potential visitors as possible. There are countless Search Engine Optimization and Placement companies that offer search engine placement services. Unfortunately, many of them focus primarily on search engine submission and keyword tactics while overlooking the most crucial element involving search engine optimization, the ability of your pages to communicate well with the search engines.

It all begins with proper code structure. This article explains how search engines work and how anyone can optimize their website for better search engine placement.

*Note - You DO NOT need to be a Web developer to utilize optimization techniques on an existing Website. Most optimizations can be made by simply changing the location of a few lines of script or adding a word here or there. Create an optimized .html page and save it to your hard drive and you'll have a template prepared for future projects.

One of the main rules in a ranking algorithm, often referred to as a "crawler" or "spider", involves the location and frequency of keywords on a web page.

Search engines will also check to see if the search keywords appear near the top of a web page, such as in the head section or within the first few paragraphs of text in the body section. They assume that any page relevant to the topic will mention those keywords right from the beginning.

Frequency is the other major factor in how search engines determine relevancy. A search engine will analyze how often keywords appear in relation to other words in a web page. Pages that contain a keyword with a higher frequency are often deemed more relevant than other web pages.

Search engines may also penalize pages or exclude them from their cache all together if they detect search engine "spamming." An example of this is when a word is repeated hundreds of times on a page in an attempt to increase the frequency and to move the page higher in the listings. Search engines watch for common spamming methods in a variety of ways, including following-up on complaints from search engine users.

The following "on the page" optimization techniques will greatly improve an existing Website's ability to communicate well with the search engines:

JavaScript!

It doesn't matter for what purpose you utilize JavaScript, (drop-down menus, pop-ups, etc.), place the script at the end of the HEAD section or place it in a separate file altogether that is "included" on your page. This will move the important content closer to the beginning of the page and will improve the keyword location.

Make sure that the Title tag is the first tag in the HEAD section of your page!

It needs to be placed before all other tags, otherwise search engines will overlook it which will have a negative impact on your rankings.

Make sure that your Title tag does not contain "stop" words!

Words like "and, on, a, the, for, to, about, are, that, were, by, of" and other auxiliary words are too common and search engine algorithms don't take them into consideration. By using a stop word in your Title tag, you will damage your rankings.

Your keyword should be as close to the beginning of the Title tag as possible!

Move your keyword closer to the beginning of your Title to emphasize its importance and to greatly improve its prominence.

META name="keywords" content="less is more"!

Choose your keywords carefully, (6-10 max.), and place them in order of importance in this tag. Too many keywords in this tag will take away from the importance, relevance and position of every word in the tag.

Does your page contain enough text?

Pages that contain mostly FLASH or other ephemeral web-based applications often contain little or no text because the text is contained inside of the application, not on the page itself. This can make a page completely transparent to search engines. Each page should contain at least 150 words of visible text within the BODY section.

Are any of your keywords in bold?

When you utilize a bold font on a particular keyword or keyword phrase that is located in the BODY section, you are telling the search engines that you place a high level of importance on them. Therefore the search engines will consider those words or phrases to be more important than those in regular font.

Make sure that H1 tags contain keywords!

H1 or heading tags are very important to search engines. Place keywords and keyword phrases within heading tags.

Make sure that ALT= tags contain keywords!

The ALT= tags at the end of image links should contain keywords and keyword phrases.

Is your keyword present in the URL?

If your URL points to an established and high-ranked web page, do not alter your URL. However, this factor is worth considering when you create new pages / Websites. Search engines are favorable towards keywords in the URL. Just remember to use them sensibly and not to abuse them. When optimizing a page for a key phrase, separate the keywords in the URL with a hyphen, (web-site.html), or with an underscore, (web_site.html). Don't write them in one word. The search engines will understand it only as a single word.

"Off the page" criteria

Over the years crawler-based search engines have had plenty of experience with webmasters who consistently rewrite their web pages in an attempt to gain better rankings. Some determined webmasters may even attempt to "reverse engineer" the location/frequency systems utilized by a particular search engine. Because of this, in addition to location/frequency methods all major search engines now utilize "off the page" ranking criteria. Webmasters can't easily influence these factors.

Primary among off the page criteria is link analysis. By analyzing how pages link to one another, a search engine algorithm can determine two things:

- The topic of the page itself - Whether or not the page is "important", (thus deserving of a ranking boost)

In addition, sophisticated techniques are used to screen out attempts by webmasters to build "artificial" links that are designed to boost their rankings.

Another off the page factor is click-through measurement. A search engine may monitor what results a search engine user receives after a particular search and what clicks are made by that user. Eventually the search engine will drop high-ranking pages that aren't attracting clicks, while promoting lower-ranking pages that do. Just as with link analysis, systems are utilized to compensate for fake links generated by over zealous webmasters.

Give these simple optimization techniques a try and I think that you will be pleased with the results.

Viral marketing is a methods of list building

There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so

If somebody writes you an email and asks you a question, if you don't answer that question they'll probably never ever buy from you. I want to look at some statistics real quick. My list of about 10,000 contains somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 buyers, so somewhere in the neighborhood of 8% of the people on my list have bought from me.

However, if I look at the percentage of people who have ever asked me a question online, it's something like 50%. So what that means is that my conversion rate, once I've developed enough of a relationship to talk with somebody via email, my conversion rate is now 50%.

Keep in mind that that 50% is skewing the 8%. Without that 50%, that 8% might be 5-6%, so it's critical that when somebody asks you a question online from your list, you have to answer the email if you're going to be in business for a long period of time. You've got to answer the email. In my case I take it a step further because I know that once somebody asks me a question there's a 50% chance if I answer it that they're going to buy from me.

So how do I motivate people to write to me? I ask them questions. Some of you that have been on my list for a long time have seen that email 50 times because I send it out a lot. I want that response.

You've got to do the same thing on your list. You've got to build that relationship. One of the nice things about asking a question is when they answer you you find out what they want and then you can build products that meet those needs.

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

For search engine marketing companies the idea of Link Bait is very appealing. In simplistic terms, the more links a website has the higher it appears on Google & Yahoo! To attract these links in the past, a search engine optimisation (SEO) company had to individually approach sites with personalised emails asking for links.

It could often be time consuming and relied upon patience & good research. However a piece of Link Bait which quickly attracts a high number of links in a short period of time can often offer a better return on investment of an SEOs time than traditional link building.

The idea of Link Bait is relatively straight forward; given the prevalence of blogs and regularly updated websites, a piece of compelling content can quickly spread virally to a large number of people. Usually whenever someone mentioned, discussed or disputed they would receive a link. The wider their story spread, the more links they receives, the greater the click through traffic and the higher the search engines would regard their site.

While the concept is still fairly new, a number or search engine marketing companies are already offering Linkbaiting services and a number of trends and styles of bait have developed.

The most popular & practical technique is to provide a really high quality resource. This could be a useful tool, a collection of content in one place or any thing which proves useful to your readers and other webmasters think might be useful to theirs. The best way of doing this is to find a gap in the web or a problem & provide a solution. This is one of the least risky linkbaiting strategies & will be easy for anyone already producing high quality content.

The next technique is slightly more hazardous, write something controversial. Creating something which goes against given knowledge or disagrees with a commonly held belief is a sure fire way to bait some links. People will write stories refuting or agreeing with your point of view & provide lots of valuable one-way links. Though avoid being controversial for the sake of it. If its not something you believe 100% it can come back to haunt you. Plus its a stunt you can only pull a few times before people expect it of you.

Another trick of the trade is the humorous post, whether its parody of something the industry takes very seriously or some old fashioned jokes about your sector, humour is one of the top ways to hook a link.

One of the most risky, though potentially most rewarding forms of link bait is the attack; criticising someone or something prominent is one of the easiest; though potentially damaging ways, to attract links. It can make you look unprofessional but similarly if you have a well reasoned and justified point it can earn you respect from your peers. Definitely only one for the brave.

Almost the exact opposite to the attack is the ego link bait. Everybody is a sucker for praise, writing a follow up to an article written by another professional complimenting their work can prove successful. Similarly so can a competition or award, nobody is too shy when it comes to showing the world how popular and successful they are. And with that comes plenty of links.

While these are some of the most common ways search engine marketing companies create link bait they shouldnt be limiting. By creating compelling content that warrants attention you can find yourself top of the link bait tree.

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is

As a List Building Superstars (LBS) speaker, Sean Mize stuck to the same straight-ahead approach that he uses in his own e-mail correspondence, sales letters, and teleseminars. A style undoubtedly welcomed by listeners often jaded by fast-talking self-promoters.

Sean's Three Strategies for Generating Article Marketing Content.

1. Volume, Volume, VOLUME!

Mize is unwavering in his call for large quantities of quality articles that merit placement in the best e-zines. Therefore, set aside 2-3 hours for uninterrupted writing every day, plus another 2-3 hours for article submissions to the directories.

2. Adding Back Links through Article Submissions.

By tracking purchases of his information products, Sean discovered that traffic generated through articles converted best. So, the message is clear - give motivated readers the information they seek, and they are more likely to become buyers and repeat customers. Like many marketers, Mize uses free giveaway reports to attract list subscribers.

3. Stick to the Basics.

Sean Mize's formula for article marketing success is simple: Produce 20 original articles weekly, and have the patience to let them percolate up the directory and search engine rankings. Mize is definitely anti-Private Label Rights (PLR). He opposes reused and slightly altered content on the grounds that they do not work for the reader nor the marketer looking for traffic. Search engines flag duplicate articles, and consequently do not rank them.

Even if they did work, it would be an unfair manipulation of search engine rankings. The articles most likely would be poorly written, aimed at robots instead of human beings.

Words of Caution...

Sean noted that expanding broadband technology is making it harder for Internet Marketers to capture, hold, and retain a prospect's attention. There is a lot of readily-accessible stimuli (i.e. audio, video, graphics, podcasts, etc.) and users no longer have to wait for one download before moving on to the next thing. So, offer incentives for users to opt-in to your list, even at the risk of attracting too many "tire-clickers".

Article marketing is definitely not for everyone. Experience shows that only a small percentage of people have the discipline to carry out such a "ruthless" writing campaign and make it succeed. Furthermore, marketers who crave speed probably have a skill set oriented towards other areas (e.g. Pay-per-Click (PPC)).

Mize suggests that we get to know potential joint venture (JV) partners as people first before making a commitment, article marketing-related or otherwise. Also, be selective about what affiliate products and programs to promote. Affiliate marketing, by definition, removes a lot of personal risk. However, your reputation will be determined by the recommendations you make to subscribers.

What it Really Takes...

Writing-oriented marketers should welcome the idea that you can succeed online without state-of-the-art graphics, a killer app, or a significant advertising budget.

However, the amount of articles demanded by Mize's formula for success raises some questions:

1. What role should "ghostwriting", i.e. paying someone to write original articles for you, play for a serious article marketer?

2. Does Sean personally use services like elance and getafreelancer? If so, what percentage of his articles are "ghost-written"?

3. Can you really control the originality and quality of outsourced writing? Is it really any better than PLR articles?

This is the age of globalization, and outsourcing is a fact of life in all fields including Internet Marketing. At the very least, even prolific authors need to consider the ghostwriting option and its implications.

Conclusion.

Sean Mize is an articulate speaker who is quite direct about why he is successful. His online business tactics are transparent, and neatly tie together all three core Internet skills:

Traffic generation through article marketing to build a monetizable opt-in list that is ready, willing, and able to purchase information products...

The truth is the market for people looking for ways to make money online continues to grow at a rapid pace every day, as does the competition. As a person starts to gain some experience of the techniques used to market online, they soon start to hear about and try Internet article marketing. The reason this is so predictable, is because this continues to be one of the most effective ways to market your product or service on the Internet. One of the main points of Internet article marketing that I think is over looked is what you learn by going through the process of writing articles. Already, you have benefited from the process of writing articles in a way that is seldom talked about. If you just write one article, then this benefit seems minimal, but there is a way that you can really compound this benefit.

Everything you do on the Internet you should be looking for ways to compound our efforts, or your benefits. One of the best ways to do this when writing articles for marketing on the Internet is to write as many articles on a single topic as possible. You are already thinking about it, you have done some research about it, so you take advantage of your current focus, and instead of writing one article, you write 5 or 10 or more. It turns out that this can still have even more benefit than this.

If you use this process several times, you can compound this effect even further. As explained above, the key to maximizing your efforts is to do the research, and then write several articles based on what you have learned so you get the greatest benefit from your. Now, Let say you go through this process again to get some fresh information on the same topic, so you can write 5 more articles. Now you have learned more than the average person on the topic and you are almost an expert.

If you were to do this 3, 4 or even 5 times, you would have 25 articles, written very quickly, and not only that, but you have also moved yourself in to the category of expert on the topic. And, you have enough written material to easily create an information product. You could either use this to sell and make money, or you could use it as a giveaway gaining the viral effect of having it being downloaded and distributed for free all over the world as the word of its information and value spread.

Now you see how simple it is to compound your efforts while developing content for Internet article marketing. In the article, you have learned the secrets used by experience Internet marketers for years. The difference between get tens and hundreds of viewers for your efforts and thousand and tens of thousands is learning to compound your efforts and results.

Marketing to Realtors with A Powerful Positioning Statement

If you want to attract the attention of real estate agents, you need to develop a relationship with agents that serve luxury, custom building.around a position. All of your efforts at marketing to realtors should be built around this position.

Your position provides the focus and direction around your expertise. It tells the agent what you do, for whom, explores your niche, differentiates you from the competition and shows the benefit to the customer.

The first step is developing a position statement that describes your business.

Who are you and whats your business?

The first part of your statement describes, in detail, your preferred client. It can be a focus on a geographic area, or it can focus on your experience. For instance, you can either state that you service agents that work Scottsdale, or you could say you work

What kinds of problems do you solve?

This is the heart of your positioning statement. It creates the interest with the reader or agent. To get their attention, you need to focus on problem solving. For instance, say you are focusing on helping agents struggling to produce more referrals. You positioning statement could be, John Brown, a mortgage professional with Quality Mortgage, helps million dollar producing agents struggling to capture consistent referrals.

Whats your competition?

Take a look at your competition. What do they offer and how do they offer it. Does their offer sound similar to yours, or are you unique. Understanding your competition helps you recognize your unique value and expertise. It also helps you refine your position.

For instance, if your competing with agencies with in-house lenders, you could structure your position statement along the lines of: John Brown, a mortgage professional with Quality mortgage, helps million dollar producing agents struggling to capture consistent referrals. Unlike in-house lenders that limit the customer care they offer, John Brown specializes in building client loyalty strategies.

With your position statement, you are addressing the competition so you can highlight how you are different from them, without being negative or derogatory.

Whats the benefit of your expertise?

List the benefits your audience will receive from their perspective. Be careful to keep the benefits separate from the features. Features are defining elements of your service, while benefits are what the agent gains from your service, the result of solving the problem.

For instance, you might state: John Brown, a mortgage professional with Quality mortgage, helps million dollar producing agents struggling to capture consistent referrals. Unlike in-house lenders that limit the customer care they offer, John Brown specializes in building client loyalty strategies so the agent can predict a steady stream of new referrals.

Your benefit to the agent is the same as your unique competitive advantage. This competitive advantage is what you use to generate interest.

Your positioning statement should be the foundation of your marketing strategy. Once you define your position, you can build your marketing plans around it.

All of your efforts at marketing to Realtors will begin with your positioning statement. Its key to establishing your unique brand identity, the one thing agents consider when they come to doing business with you and keeps them coming back.

Q: I wrote an article awhile back -- my first one, actually -- and published it in EzineArticles. I could have submitted to more but everybody around me was talking about that "duplicate content" issue and I got scared that maybe if I submitted it to too many directories I would get "penalized" for that. How are you handling that issue?

A: Duplicate content is a MUCH over rated issue - it is only one small component of what Google uses to rate a site. The "duplicate content terror" as I like to call it,was greatly over blown by some internet marketers who then wanted to provide you with their solution. Typical over the top marketing.

The reality is simply these two things

1. If you have an article on an article directory with links in the resource box back to your web site and on that web site (that you own) you have the same article, then those two versions of the same article need to be about 20% different. So what you do it take one of the articles and shift around the tips, add or subtract some text, change the intro or conclusion. Any of the above or other changes in the article to just make it about 20% different. 2. The good news is you can then post your article to as many article directories as your little heart desires. That's the whole entire point of submitting your articles to the directories, to get them on as many as you can to get the most play for your article.

This is

Making money and bringing in new business and lots of it can be easy if you know the basics of effective marketing. What I have found in my twenty successful years in sales and marketing as both a Sales Executive and Sales Director/Regional Manger is, most people when they start out dont know the fundamentals of successful marketing.

You may not have a sales background although you find yourself in a situation where you are opening your own business and you are the sales and marketing department.

If you're not sure how this happened, since your goal was never to be a sales person, but none the less that is the position you find your self in, dont worry, its not as hard as you think.

Know your potential customer

First and foremost you want to know your potential customer. Who are the people that would hire you or buy your product or service?

What demographics are they in? What are the types of things they do for a living? Are they mostly women or men or both? What is their age range? What type of life style and income do they have? What are some of the things they would enjoy on their day off? What are some of their problems? What would be obstacles standing in their way to solving those problems?

Spend about ten-twenty minutes writing down who you will be marketing to over all. What you want to accomplish here is a good feel for the type of people that would be interested in your business.

If you dont know who they are you wont be able to effectively know how to market to them and that would hinder you in making money. Example, if your target market is mothers in the age range of 25 to 40, that is much different then executives of both men and women age range 35-60. You would not market to both groups the same way.

Search to find out where your target audience is looking for solutions

Second most important factor comes from the first exercise. Once you have a clear picture of who your clients/customers are and what their problems may be, you can move on to the next step. Finding out where these types of people would look for answers.

Its very important at this phase that you do some research on this. You want to make sure you spend at least a day or more on researching where these people would look for answers to their problems.

You may find that they rely on trade magazines. They may spend time on the internet doing searches for what they need. If that is the case you now have an idea of where they look so you can show up there.

Finding out what would grab their attention

Third you need to know what would grab their attention. That is one key to making money. What you would need to write on your web site or in an article or advertisement?

If its a page on your web site you want it to come up when your audience is searching on the internet. By going to Google search:

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

and typing in keywords for your demographic, this will tell you how many people if any actually search for that word or phrase.

You can then type in other key words to see if they are popular searches. This will give you a great idea if youre on the correct track. You will know what to write about that will interest them and in that writing how to give solutions to their problems. i.e.; your service or product.

No use in advertising in a place where your target market is not looking, or writing an article on your web site that no one finds.

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

A powerful tool to build your small business whether it be an online business or an offline business is through article marketing. In this article, I will provide you with several steps that will help you reach your potential customers.

The first step in writing an article is picking a specific topic about your business that would have interest to your customers. For example, if you paint houses, a good topics for an article is "choosing the right colors for your home" or "the best way to find a reputable home painter". Here's another example related to a unique service I saw advertised on the window of a car driving next to me. The service was organizing a slumber party. It made me curious and I really wanted to know more about it. The owner might write an article about the pitfalls of having a slumber party or the key steps to organizing a fun-filled slumber party.

The idea here is to write something useful but not overwhelm the reader with too much information.

Once you have written your article, you complete it with a call to action. This is your opportunity to give the reader a chance to start a relationship with you. A call to action will include one or two links to your web page. The link you provide should take the reader to either a free report or something that you think they will find useful. It should also have similar content to what your original article was about.

Once you have the reader follow through with a call to action hopefully you will have captured their information and you able you are able start relationship with them. The type of information you provide and capture will vary between businesses. The painter might want to capture a phone number and reach out to the person so he can provide more information and answer questions. The slumber party organizer may have the reader sign up to a seven-day eCourse explaining the process for organizing a great and safe slumber party.

In closing, article marketing can be an extremely effective ways to build a small business. Give it a try today!
